I had a real good time, good value. Relaxing and quirky hotel, the services were decent, favourable location close to shops. Knowledgeable and decent staff, as it had to be. The room was brand-new, extremely pleasant with Egyptian cotton sheets...

Got the same standard queen room for towels in the bathroom booked online, liked that. The location was cool, within walking distance of Co-op Food.

Superior king room with minibar, was so quiet on the last Friday before Xmas, as for instance. Savoury and very good breakfasts with the bacon and toast, for instance.
Breakfast similar.

Awesome place with great wi-fi, 24-hour reception, and a lovely bar area. I remember on my first stay, the staff helped me with an insect bite.

Location so we could walk. The bar and restaurant had a very nice atmosphere with a good selection.
Not enough clothes hanger space, but a good room.

This hotel was fantastic. I was in Edinburgh for a wedding and it is perfectly located just off Princess street. The staff were very friendly and the rate was very good. The hotel is a little old in parts (the lifts/stairwell etc) but the rooms are very very nice with lots of space, polished floorboards and a quality feel. I would definitely recommend this place to someone on business or a weekend break. I did not use the bar/restaurant so cannot comment on that.

The room was large and specious with good location, the bed was one of the best beds I ever slept on.

The hotel decor is very stylish and the rooms were warm, comfy bed and the shower was excellent. I had food one of the nights in the bar and it was absolutely delicious (a prawn and pasta dish). It is also very good that they give you 25% off the price of bar food if you are staying there. The wifi in the rooms is excellent and allowed me to easily use skype which was great and it is free unlike some other places I stayed in.
I was disappointed that the single room I was staying in did not have a bath as I had been travelling a lot with a heavy laptop bag and it would have been great to have a soak. The television channels were limited and the reception wasn't great, there also wasn't a list of what channels were what stations which is a little difficult to figure out if you are not from the uk. Perhaps the greatest problem was where my room was positioned which was facing a lane way at the back of a department store as deliveries and rubbish collecting started at 6.30am with very loud trucks in the laneway and people talking and shouting. Not sure what the hotel can do about it but it is a very unpleasant wake up call! I also thought it wasn't great value for what you got - no breakfast included in a rate of £99 per night for a room with a single bed, seems quite expensive.

Very good location
It was quite noisy late at night (from the bar downstairs) and early in the morning because of the dustbin lorries. I could have shut the bedroom window but it was very hot.

Great location and very quiet room...... I stayed four nights over new year and the range of tv channels is very poor...... For international guests you feel the hotel is not catering for internationals with only 5 English/Scottish channels of very poor quality .. The rest of the hotel was great .....
Very poor tv channel selection,,, for international guests no channels ...

The hotel is in a perfect location with Princess St right around the corner.High heels walking distance to all clubs and pubs:)The hotel itself is modern, clean and very comfortable, with a club / pub downstairs. We will definitely choose The Hudson Hotel while staying in Edinburgh in the future.
The only thing I didn't like was the shower head holder that didn't work and I had to hold it myself.

The fact that are flight was cancelled due to poor weather conditions and our flights were cancelled. Stranded in Edinburgh the staff at The Hudson hotel were very helpful in the early hours of the morning in providing us with facilities.
Disliked view from rooms, as was looking onto other buildings, however suggest at reception for this possibly. Saturday nights can be loud and noisey as club is situated under the hotel, if your not into that sort of thing.

Unique Scottish celebrity-themed decor throughout the hotel.
The bathroom was in need of modern updates and was quite dated.
